DeMario Brent, known on the stage as LOM Mazi, is one of twelve children. The fourth oldest of his siblings LOM has always felt responsible for those around him. Life seemed normal until his father, Demarcus Corley, a professional boxer stepped in the ring with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The newfound attention for nearly knocking Floyd down resulted in break-ins and confrontations between his parents. DeMario and his siblings went to school in DC, Maryland and Virginia. The constant moving took a toll of his family and his parents decided to separate. After which, DeMario began to hang with the wrong crowd instead of training and boxing with his father. He ended up dropping out his school in the 12th grade. Soon Demario was homeless with his family, smoking and robbing people to keep food in his stomach. But that low doesn’t compare to the call he would receive that his grandmother passed away in the hospital that he had hoped would save her. An arrest would soon follow, but LOM escaped with just probation.

Alone and left to his own thoughts, Demario turned to music. He began writing and creating with his IMac to release his feelings of pain. Artists like Lil Wayne and 50 Cent provided a blueprint while Maxwell and Kem helped him to heal. LOM decided to reconnect with his father and share his music. To his surprise, his father loved it. Demarcus retired from boxing but kept in shape sparring at the Fitness Equation. There he met Frank Moyne. Upon learning that Moyne was building his record label, Demarcus asked him to take a listen his son’s music. Moyne was pleasantly surprised the music was good. He met with MAZI and understood his passion and purpose for his music. The two linked and began to work together. MAZI’s latest single, “Norfolk Vibe” has attained over 100k streams on Spotify and 60k views on YouTube. LOM MAZI is cut from a different cloth and he’s ready to let the world see.
